It will most likely be a welcome addition to the electric vehicles as Tesla owners have been requesting it for some time. Tesla shared the information regarding the upcoming Dashcam Viewer with its Early Access Program members on April 3rd. By touching the icon the player will automatically start and will display a list of both the Sentry mode footage as well as the Dashcam clips. The car does have to be in Park mode for the owner to view the videos, and all that's needed is to click on the camera icon available on the dash screen. You get to see all 4 recorded cams in real time and select which one is maximized. #Tesla dashcam viewer icon not showing updateago I found this problem after update and certain time later dash cam icon disappear again. A soft reboot (press and hold both buttons on the steering wheel for about a minute or until the screen turns black) fixed it for me. Tesla did a great job on the video browser for the sentry/dashcam clips. Sentry mode icon was there but dashcam icon went missing. They no longer need to bring their USB or thumb drive to a computer or laptop elsewhere in order to see the footage. Now, Tesla is releasing a new feature that enables the vehicles' owners to watch their Sentry Mode videos directly from within the car. If your dashcam does not come with a software video player, you will see a list of video files: Use your mouse to select all the video files. Double-click the icon to start the software and view your videos. In order for Sentry Mode to function, the cars' owners have to plug in a storage device such as a USB or a thumb drive, and then activate the features in the settings. If your dashcam comes with a software video player, you will only see one icon that lets you start the video player software. The feature has, in fact, assisted a number of Tesla owners to catch unsuspecting vandals and thieves. Tesla's integrated surveillance system, called Sentry Mode, makes use of the vehicle's Autopilot cameras to record what's going on around the car.
